The Missing Thing for a Perfect Sunset
A radio host was talking about what makes a perfect sunset. I thought I knew the answer. My wife knew better.
You know those nice evenings when everything feels just right?
Yesterday, I was listening to a radio host talk about perfect sunsets. He said you need warm air, nice colors in the sky, good weather. Sitting by the beach, watching the sunset — sounds perfect, right?
But I was thinking… something is still missing.
I told my wife (who was sitting next to me during the radio program):
“You know what makes it really perfect? A cold beer. But leh, yesterday I had beer with my friends already.”
She looked at me and said: “So? You shower every day what. You eat every day also. Go drink your beer if you want lah.”
Wah, that hit me.
She didn’t scold me.
She didn’t make me feel bad.
She just said it like it is.
That’s what good partners do.
They support you and make you see things differently. Moments like that make me think: yes, I’ve made the right decision to marry this woman.
Having a supportive partner is like having superpowers.
My wife doesn’t judge me for small things. She helps me think better. She makes life easier.
And she’s right — the perfect sunset isn’t about the sky. It’s about who’s sitting next to you when you’re watching it.
